Need a New Computer

Recommended Posts

My computer, which is a laptop, is starting to come apart at its seams, like the cover of the keyboard area (not sure how to describe it) is coming up, and it wont go back down. Also, this computer freezes all the time ><

So, does anyone wanna recommend a computer? I'd prefer a laptop since it needs to travel between my apartment and home town. It also needs to support photoshop, of course, and I'd prefer if it was under $500, but $800 would be my max since that's my card's spending limit. I REFUSE to buy another HP. And I don't want an acer or a dell. so other brands, GO!

How about this one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+-+Series+3+Laptop+/+Intel%26%23174%3B+Core%26%23153%3B+i3+Processor+/+15.6%26%2334%3B+Display+/+4GB+Memory+-+Black/Silver/3475234.p?id=1218404128405&skuId=3475234#BVRRWidgetID

-Lenovo - 17.3 Laptop - 6GB Memory - 750GB Hard drive $699.99

What I like about this one: It's BIG XD.(Watching videos and play games should be a piece of pie)

It should fit your budget of $800 unless the Tax Rate is too high.

Umm. I don't have a link to a specific computer, but I heard almost nothing but good things from my friends about the Asus brand.

Take the following advice with a grain of salt.

If you're looking at a laptop only slightly more than what you're willing to spend, try googling the computer name and put "refurbished" behind it. It means it won't be new, but the company has replaced the parts that were faulty and has wiped the Hard Drive, so it's like new. And it usually knocks off about 100-200 dollars from the bill.

Don't get Vista. I've heard nothing but trouble from vista.

I'm a little leary about a refurbished computer, but maybe I could give it a shot. It makes me feel uncomfortable to know there was something wrong with it in the first place. Also, I don't think they sell vista anymore since windows 7 has come out :P.

That Sony looks nice...I wonder if they have it on display in the store. The Toshiba looks nice, too, but the Lenovo might be a little heavy. I hope I can see them in person though.
