justagirl
Hello there. I am fluent in English but closer to proficient in Korean. As for experience, I've worked for a small scanlation group before. I'll probably only be able to work for the summer, but if that's alright, I'd like to apply as Korean translator. mengya90
Hello, I was wondering if you still need Chinese translators. I was born in China but moved to the United States at a young age. I am fluent in Mandarin and English and I could read a little bit of Traditional Chinese. I have no experience translating for scanlation groups, but I do have four years translating experience translating for small business firms. I would like to join your group because I love the projects that your group have released and currently working on. Could I take the test, please? Thank you. Edited July 3, 2012 by Cheesecake Sent. lettertothewind
Hi, do you still need Korean to English translators? I'm Korean, but I moved to Canada when I was 5 so although I'm better with English, I can read, speak and write Korean fairly well. And if I need help on a translation, I can look in the dictionary or ask my parents. I don't have any previous experience translating manhwa, but I'd still like to try ^^ Thank you Edited July 6, 2012 by Sepia test sent~ Quote - Wishing you a Sebastian-filled day -
JKC_08
Hi, There are a couple of things i want to ask about. First I want to ask if you need any Chinese - English translators? Secondly i was directed by Starry Heaven to this scanlation group and i want to ask if you are interested in picking up Biyaku Cafe. As you can see Biyaku Cafe was translated by Starry Heaven before but was dropped and FTV scanlation picked it up, but i have checked they seem to have put it on hiatus as there was not enough people to work on this project. So i want to ask are you interested in picking up this job? Looking forward to your reply, Thank you Edited July 20, 2012 by Cheesecake Done. ChocoVanilla
Hi, I am new to this site and I'm just wondering if I could sign up to be a translator for Chinese manga (or whatever it is called). I would really like to know how much time it would take each day if I were to sign up for this job cause I kind of have a tight schedule... I speak Chinese fluently and can write and read most of the characters. I have a chinese dictionary at home and can type chinese characters on my computer as well if necessary. I've translated for a couple of years for other scanlation groups (and scanlated a series, by myself, too). Feel free to send me both the Japanese and Korean tests. kyaha
I would like to apply as a Chinese translator if the position is still available. The 1st page doesn't say how often you're required to do 1 chapter but you'll looking at about 2-3 weeks per chapter from me so feel free to reject me if that is too slow for you. I can also read Japanese but I wouldn't consider it "fluent" so I'm not applying for that position but I just thought I'd let you guys know (if you want, it wouldn't hurt to send me a Japanese test anyway and watch me fail miserably) Edited July 23, 2012 by SoRa. mudflower
Hello I can translate chinese to english and will love yo help out (especially in Platinum Garden) Credentials: Translated 2 chapters for NCIS, so still definitely a novice. I guess I will really enjoy putting my translations into 'an' english-fied Japanese cultural context. I've been reading a lot of manga and have read a range of professional to amateur translations; and nothing irks me more when honorifics are omitted and when translators make an attempt to translate common terms like onii/onee, and itadakimasu. (I mean you wouldn't translate bon appetit for an English text, but will probably have it in italicized form so why translate it?) that's my 2 cents. So, I am keen to try, please send me a test. Also, I am also very good with Photoshop, so I wouldn't mind testing for the editing as well. (I did more editing work with ncis than translating) Cheerio mf Edited September 15, 2012 by SoRa. test sent!
