It's really great, Kyouko's really strong, and cool unlike other shoujo heroines. What makes it even funnier is her cluelessness. jlucpitard Posted February 27, 2011 Author Report Share Posted February 27, 2011 Well, your wish was sort of fulfilled, but it looks like Kyouko's not ready to accept anything between she and Ren, so... sort of a change is coming. I think this will be fun to read when it's collected in volumes rather than waiting for each chapter as we do. Certain things are dragging on (Seriously, what did she give him for his birthday? How many chapters has it been?) but if read together, I think it would be paced rather nicely. In fact, before the latest twist, i was beginning to worry that it was going to tie up too quickly since we still have the professional side of the story that I'd like to see before the romance is resolved. Maybe it's because I read the first 100 chapters all at once so it flowed better, whereas right now I'm waiting for the chapter one at a time so it's going slower?! The pace becomes slower and I feel the purpose of the manga becomes unclear as the focus shifted to another character. I'm hoping the ending won't disappoint me or I'll be pulling my hair out of frustration. That happened quite a lot with longer manga where you expect the ending will be bam but instead, it's super rushed and you mouthed eh? He's got his past to deal with and she's got a career to get going. Until things come to light, they can't really progress. In Tokyo Crazy Paradise, I felt like things got rushed once the girl realized she loved the gangster. Here I'm glad she's taking her time. I'm glad Mechgouki works so hard for the SkipBeat! fans and cranks out a version soon after the Japanese release. I'll kill myself if that's the ending after trailing after the manga for years now. It's good that she started to realize her feeling but where's Sho? I like it because the main character is so lively and strong (some friends of mine told me I'm just like Kyoko ahem @onions66@ ,especially when I get mad or i'm having sudden mood swings ) ) I think the story is very funny and sweet and yes, it is dragging from time to time but somehow the author finds new resources to put things back on track. Lately though....well I've been both happy and sad with the development. On one hand I love the fact Kyoko is starting to realize her feelings for Ren, on the other...I wanted more Kain and Setsu!! I loved those couple of chapters (yeah, brother-complex fan, I admit it... @onions65@ ) I'm very curious how the mangaka will tie all the loose ends since she always did before. But all I can do now is sit and wait for Mechgouki since they release it the fastest (and the best if you ask me) Glad to see so many Skip Beat! fans here. So now we have to wait for each release, then hope for very dedicated people (I hope they don't skip scholl to scan the pages), then wait for some translators speed translating it... By the way, some chapters left me speechless, because the story looked like some pieces were missing. I found the scans and I've been working on it with Project Tinte. But I'm slow... It's kinda sad that I feel like its not getting anywhere, but the characters are so epicly awesome that I can stand the wait. I love how the manga focuses on Kyouko's career and the whole acting experience. The characters are lovable and funny =) I just hope we don't have to wait till the end to see Ren confess because i really want to see those two as a couple! It's one of the few ongoing mangas that I've stayed loyal to for more than 5 years. Kyoko is hilarious, but she's also headstrong. There's so much stuff left to be explained in the series, especially when it comes to Ren's past and what's going to happen when the public know of it. I'm a big fan of SB!, it is my number 1 fav manga and it's going on forever, but I think she got a bit mature for this moment, and perhaps she will be really open to the idea of love anytime soon. Kyouko was oblivious about the attention she got from Ren, and Shoutaro still think of her as his possessions. I do think that Shou isn't going appear really much. Ren is struggling over his dark past, and hopefully Kyouko can really do something about it. And of course, I doubt any readers won't want a more visible blossoming romance between the two. Well, got to say good luck for Ren though. Hehe....
