holanio
So I saw this post by Daniel.Au (scanlates Boys on the Run among other stuff) and I thought it was really great. I thought it hit straight home with me because it's really a creative experience and that's probably why I enjoy it so much. Link to the blog post: "ALMOST CREATIVE: Why I scanlate" I dunno, maybe you guys will find it as interesting as I did or maybe you have different reasons of doing what you're doing. But uhhh yeah =] Quote How to Pronounce holanio: Oh - la - nee - oh // I'm just a bean.A bean drawn by Noirsome. holanio
Well, he's BEEN scanlating (and he's done more than one series, usually focusing on one project a time though 'cause its a small time effort of maybe a one or two people) and also writes his own novels and posts them online for free... It's not like he didn't have an opinion before, but it's more like his thoughts on it and his motives have kind of grown since then. And also, personally, when I started scanlating, I just did it 'cause I thought I could do it. And after a while it seemed like I could help out with projects I liked, but I never really thought about why I kept on scanlating. So I thought the blog post really hit home with me on why the heck am I still doing this. -shrugs- You can take it or leave it P: Quote How to Pronounce holanio: Oh - la - nee - oh // I'm just a bean.A bean drawn by Noirsome. ayne
I can somehow relate to that. When I had the time I really liked trying hard with scanlation, trying to get the stuff done fast. It was always kind of a "lighthearted" event when we released. But I can also say that if it wasn't for EF, I'd stopped scanlations long ago. Even though you do the job on your own, connecting with people from all around the world is also a great deal. So it's a bit of everything what makes it fun and enjoyable.
