Nekomikoto
Cantonese here :3 moderate fluency...mostly because I don't really speak it very much at home it only improves during the summer when I go to hong kong and literally everyone speaks it But I cannot read or write it I took up to spanish 3 in high school, but more of it has been forgotten by now Quote Status: Still (Sort-Of) Retired Last Updated: 5/5/

Tessa
Romanian...duh XD. But that doesn't count since it's my mother language so I'll have to brag about how good I'm at english compared to my fellow romanians, but that would be a lie since most romanians my age are pretty fluent in english XD. Ah, I also knew german at a medium level, but I haven't spoken a german word in 4 years now, so I kind of forgot a lot, but I think if I decide to study german again I'll remember most of the stuff I forgot in a short period of time. Man...I'm so good at bragging! Quote Working Hard on: 1. CookieMonsterHana
Same with Tail, I'm pretty fluent at Vietnamese as well (dad makes me speak Viet at home as much as possible) though I wouldn't say I know the language completely. It normally only gets me by just barely in a conversation My reading is pretty good but I don't write as well. Good thing I'm still learning 8DD I'm also taking Mandarin in school right now, but my teacher isn't teaching me much so... ;w; Good thing some of our manga are written in Traditional Chinese. x5ga
Romanian - Legendary French - was epic, now probably below average English - Above average, nobody dares to correct me because it says "head PR" in my title. Latin - can read, write (if given time) but can't speak because it takes me too much to conjugate the verb/decline the nouns in my head Hungarian - i can curse better than a native speaker bits of Spanish/Italian/Portuguese. I can understand if you talk to me, but i suck at anything else related to them. Anime level Japanese. I know a few hundred useless kanjis and I can read hiragana/katakana at the speed of a mediocre 4th grader. Tessa
Hungarian - i can curse better than a native speaker Lol, you had someone in the family who teaches you or you just wanted to know the language to know when the hungarians were cursing you? Ani
Chinese (Cantonese) - Fluent-ish? Very limited vocabulary, I guess XD Spanish - Kind of fluent? I've been taking it a few years, so I can write fluently (limited vocabulary, as well), but speaking it is another story. >_> English - Above average, nobody dares to correct me because it says "head PR" in my title. Now if only you would actually be willing to speak English and prove that. *cough* >_> Quote ------------------------------------------------------------------- LAST UPDATED: 12.07.15 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Position: (Ultra Slow) Proofreader/(Ultra Slow) Cleaner/PRQCer ------------------------------------------------------------------- Status: Inactive/Semi-active Work, work, work~ :3 CleaningToshi DensetsuNocturneProofreadingMei-chan no ShitsujiPRQCing~Nothing at the moment~ *Credits to Tear for the ava and sig <3*
Nekomikoto
Chinese (Cantonese) - Fluent-ish? Very limited vocabulary, I guess XD I feel the same way!! I'm always asking my mom what certain words mean (and then I forget them later o_o) but this summer I learned what "jelous" and "dating" is mostly because me and my mom were playing mah jong with an old lady with serious Alzheimer, and she kept asking the same exact question and I kept asking my mom what the words meant XD Quote Status: Still (Sort-Of) Retired Last Updated: 5/5/
Ani
Yeah... Whenever my mom talks to me about something, I'm always asking what a term she used means, but then I always forget. XD I know what dating is because my mom's talked to me about it so many times already (even though I don't care about relationships right now *cough* ~_~) I'm sure your Canto's better than mine, though >< Quote ------------------------------------------------------------------- LAST UPDATED: 12.07.15 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Position: (Ultra Slow) Proofreader/(Ultra Slow) Cleaner/PRQCer ------------------------------------------------------------------- Status: Inactive/Semi-active Work, work, work~ :3 CleaningToshi DensetsuNocturneProofreadingMei-chan no ShitsujiPRQCing~Nothing at the moment~ *Credits to Tear for the ava and sig <3*
Unie
you guys know Cantonese? Awesome!! Two of my friends speak Cantonese, and then my TA in high school did, too, but they had different accents. Apparently one had a country accent and the other had a city one. But another friend I have knows Mandarin and a but of Taiwanese. I thought Mandarin was more common since they teach it at our university... Ah, anyway. I know a few phrases in Cajun French, but not enough to hold a conversation. Besides, native Cajun French speakers are usually illiterate, so it's useless unless you have family and friends that speak it. Er, I can read hiragana like a baby. XD and also form tiny sentences, but can't hold a conversation in Japanese. I used to be the same way with Latin since I studied it for a year, but not anymore . Also, I know enough Spanish to understand what's going on in a few conversation and books, but if you ask me to speak it, I'll stare at you blankly. I cant translate directly, but I can paraphrase. And I can say I love you in Korean and that's it XD sarang hae. Oh! And I can say I'm a pig in Taiwanese. Ani
I think the "country Cantonese" is actually better known as Taishanese, which I always referred to as Canto in a country accent, as well. XD My dad's family speaks Taishanese, but my mom's side speaks Cantonese. A lot of words in Taishanese are similar to Canto, but according to my mom, the accent is usually very heavy, and there are words that are completely different, so she often has trouble understanding it. A lot of my friends speak one or the other, but can understand both. I understand Taishanese because I grew up hearing it, but I speak Canto because of my parents. ^^" Quote ------------------------------------------------------------------- LAST UPDATED: 12.07.15 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Position: (Ultra Slow) Proofreader/(Ultra Slow) Cleaner/PRQCer ------------------------------------------------------------------- Status: Inactive/Semi-active Work, work, work~ :3 CleaningToshi DensetsuNocturneProofreadingMei-chan no ShitsujiPRQCing~Nothing at the moment~ *Credits to Tear for the ava and sig <3*

Sam
English - Hahaha! Need to ask? Chinese - Very, very fluent. Mandarin only, but I can understand some southern dialects that don't sound too different from Mandarin. I read both simplified and traditional. Hebrew - Used to be my dominant language, but now have forgotten a lot of the vocab. I can probably recall them all in a week though. I know the entire alphabet in Hebrew in sign language too. Spanish - Reached level 5 in school before I decided to quit because I loathed the teacher. Fue una puta maliciosa . My Japanese level is bad, but I seem to be able to understand most some of what my Japanese-speaking friends say when they communicate with each other in Japanese. Of course, I can read some Kanji, given my background in Chinese. I grew up listening to Cantonese songs, so I can understand a little of Cantonese when the language is spoken. I learned French for 3 months in Israel, but French level is laughable. I can also understand a little bit of the Zhuang language, which is a language spoken by the Zhuang people, who are one of the 56 ethnic groups in China. It's the native language for my grandparents. Sam
I was just going to lurk this but after reading joey mention the szechuan/sichuan dialect I couldn't help but chime in. I'm from the sichuan province actually well my parents are... I remember there was one time my best friend asked her mother "where are my shoes" in full sichuan dialect, and I almost died from laughing because it sounded like "where is my child." She was 5.
