(I would prefer if I could be sent a deadline as I like to divide up the work appropriately.) I have proofread translations before, As I was with two other scanlation groups (That sort of suddenly stopped doing stuff when the school year rolled around). I believe I got through 3 or 4 scripts before no more work came in. However, my previous scanlation group closed down because of internal drama and reposters. If you're looking for someone who has superb English skills and knows about all those odd quirks between languages, I'm your girl. I've got three hours each workday to dedicate to a project and a minimum of seven hours on the weekends. I have no obligations that could get into the way of my time to work on projects and I am not picky about what I work on. The most important thing for me is that I continuously grow and get better at things and in order to do that, practicing my language skills is a must. Therefore, please send me your test and you'll see that I have a great flow and can catch even the smallest errors. M3reck Posted October 8, 2016 Report Share Posted October 8, 2016 (edited) I've been an avid reader of EvilFlowers' Non Non Biyori scans but it's been almost a year since the last chapter was put online and I feel it's a shame such a good manga doesn't have a good scanlation (I tried reading some other scans and they are terrible). Last time I asked about it, the lack of proofreading was apparently the cause of that delay, and since I'm more than willing to do anything possible to help spread the love of NNB. I have been a professional proofreader/translator for around 7 years now and last time i checked, my English skills were around C2 level (meaning bilingual/native), so i'm not a slouch either. I have worked in administration among other things and have been forced to proof read my emails (don't need any embarrassing muck ups, I'm not an Iphone) for far longer than I care to admit. My grammar and eye for detail are above average. Spelkhec=Ck is a god send. I have a sense on humor. I will only be returning to part time study in the near to distant future so I will have mountainous amounts of time at your ever-demanding disposal. Skills: I am fluent only in English. I have 20+ years experience as a office manager, receptionist and administrative assistant. I am proficient in MS Office with Word (and Works) Excel & Power Point. I have worked with Adobe PDF and I am good at figuring out programs and computers in general. I am very good at finding errors in the English language and I consider myself annoyingly anal about mistakes. However, this does not roll over into being a controlling person whatsoever*. I am able to follow instructions and I have very good memory skills (I love facts, trivia and learning new things) and at times a photographic retention ability of knowledge (yes, basically I am a know-it-all). I am good with sentence structure and flow. I own a PC, laptop and a printer/scanner/copier. I have worked with many different cultures over the telephone and computer in my work positions. *I am pretty passive and non-confrontational when working with others. About Me: I am Tofu.Chan, but you can also call me Karen. I've lived in Northern CA all my life. I am a married, stay at home mom (I have back disabilities that don't allow me to work or stand for extended periods of time) and I am old (sobs!). This leaves me a lot of free time in front of the computer, where I only just discovered manga about 6 years ago. Manga quickly became my #1 hobby, as I am a voracious speed reader and I pretty much read manga all day due to my injury. Manga genres I read are Josei, Shoujo, Romance, Slice of Life, Historical, Reverse Harem and Smut (Yaoi is OK as well). I don't really care for Sports or Tragedies. Art in manga is very important to me. I do appreciate a good artist and I myself am a pretty skillful artist as I love to paint and draw. I love music and anime, too. I am always curious about other cultures and I try and find the good in everyone. I have a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor, and I love anything that makes me laugh.
