Evil Flowers

Most of you guys that are not part of the staff and didn’t visit chatango to get inside information probably don’t know, but last week was a very bad week for us. Our site was down because our host was closed/went bankrupt after the main admin run away with the money, or something like that. See here for more details: RapidSpeed’s gone missing? Thank God LeaseWeb maintained the sites till everyone could migrate to a new host provider. So that’s the main reason why our site was more “down” than “up” last week. We managed to successfully move all of our database to a new provider, but this new provider was more expensive and we had to pay in advance. We lost all the money we payed to RapidSpeed, obviously… So right now EF’s piggy bank is empty . So even though we reached our donation goal, those money were not used to buy raws, but to buy the new host. We’re sorry, but not as predicted, this month’s goal went up instead of down. >.< You might still encounter certain bugs/errors regarding the site and forum here and there. It was moved just recently so the admins probably didn’t catch everything. If you find anything that is not working properly please contact us and we’ll do our best to fix it asap!

A motivational picture I made after reaching to another sad conclusion. Remember how I kept talking to you guys about us needing to receive some raws from Korea from our raw provider? They included the Masca bonus volumes, Ciel, Dear Waltz and a lot more… Well, those raws will never get to us. After the raw provider kept telling me she’ll send them since June this year, I’ve finally reached the conclusion that she never will. She told me in October that she shipped them, but they never got to Kirie, our scanner from USA. The raw provider was Canaan from Eclipse Scanlation and I invested a lot of money in those titles, another reason to be very upset regarding this turnout. Now, I don’t want to place the blame on her entirely, maybe the raws were lost, maybe something else happened that I don’t know of, but she hasn’t replied to my emails to inform me of such maters. I do thank her for all the raws she has provided us so far. Thanks to her we were able to extend our “high quality scans manhwa business”, since Korean titles are harder to find than Japanese ones. I just want you to know that we’ll never get those raws and I’ve finally decided to move on after 5 months of waiting. You guys probably gave up also >.<. So, now I need to get to the bad part, the raws that never got to us will make us drop some projects and release in medium quality others. Here is the list of updates, hope it won’t make you guys cry too much:

~ Ciel: volume 11-14 will be released in medium quality using the raws from the net as they look very decent. Volume 15-18: raising money to buy raws. [Side information: the reason why this was stalled was also because the translator had some personal problems and she'll need to be away for a while, but we were able to find a replacement so hopefully this great project will be alive again! ^^];

~ Dream Fantasia: Grumpy is providing us some medium quality raws for the rest of the volumes [volume 3-7].

~ Evyione: volume 5-6 will be released using the raws from the net. Volume 7-9: raising money to buy raws.

~ Forget About Love: volume 3-4, we still have HQ raws provided by Canaan for these 2. Volume 5-7: raising money to buy raws.

~ Funny money Rich girl: we have no one working on it right now and since resources are so limited we’ll drop this and concentrate on buying raws for our active projects. There are some chances we’ll pick this up again when we’ll finish buying raws for all our urgent projects.

~ Dear Waltz: I love this project very much, but sadly, no one is working on it right now and since I decided to concentrate on our active projects and this one has no decent raws we can use, we’re also dropping this. We’ve been keeping this project hostage for over 1 year now and I feel bad for it. If any other group has the resources to release this in good quality, feel free to take it. If by the time we’ll get back on our feet this won’t be on anyone’s list, we’ll definitely pick it back up. But for now, this is doped.

~ Masca: Volume 13 and 14 [aka the 2 bonus volumes]. since all the releases for this were HQ we’re going to buy these last 2 volumes and not use the online raws that are medium quality. So, the 2 bonus volumes: raising money to buy raws.

~ Spam Mail Hunter: volume 4-7 will be released in medium quality using the raws from the net. Volume 8-10: raising money to buy raws because the online scans are impossible to use.

Also, from our ‘future projects’ list we’ll be erasing:  Happy & Murphy, Hush, They’re Not Kissing and a Cat, Because the Forsythia Flowers are Blooming, Vitamin, Orange Bubble Gum, My Bloody School Life, Ice Kiss; all raws bought through Canaan that never got to us. If we’ll ever decide to buy these titles again I can’t tell you now, for now we’ll be concentrating on our ongoing titles and the ones we do have raws for.

As you can see, we have a lot of catching up to do with buying raws at the moment. I don’t even want to think about all the money we lost in this “business” . That brings me to only one thing I can ask you guys to do right now and I hope I’m not asking at a bad time:

I got inspired to make this picture while I was QC-ing Hockey Club chapter 48. It’s as funny as ever XD. Even though the site was down these week we weren’t slacking off!! The staff have prepared a lot of “yummy” releases for you guys. Almost a little for everyone. I wish I could have QC-ed more, but next week I have an important project to finish and present. It’s the first half of my college graduation paper or something like that ^^. So that thing has been keeping me busy also. I will still QC, just a little slower than usual. We really need experienced quality checkers to help out, even a single one will still be better than having me, lat, x and angel QC all this alone. 4 QC-ers trying to keep up with 20+ editors. And some of them are fast too!! That’s a little unfair, right? So come and help us! Plus, I’m sure you all want to read the chapters before they get released, right? *throws a cookie at the hungry mob and hopes she’ll be able to catch a QC-er with it* Well, that’s it with my boring chit-chat. I’m finally getting to the good stuff, the very delayed and awaited release! Today we have for you:

~ Absolute Witch v08 chapter 15G [This one's just getting better and better! ^^]

~ Dear my girls v08 chapter 30 [Took me forever to QC this one . My main reason is the lack of enthusiasm because I know chapter 31 will end with a cliffhanger and this manhwa seems to be on hiatus.]

~ Hockey Club v13 chapter 48 [Soooo funny!!!! I'm not even expecting romance from this one anymore. I'm just enjoying the ride XD.]

~ Happy Rush v01 chapter 03 [Cute chapter, but she's a little slow ^^.]

~ Honey Bitter v04 chapter 14 [Good news for Honey Bitter fans: we're also going to do the "Deep Clear" volume. I found HQ raws for it and from the raws it seemed like a really nice story.]

~ Masca v11 chapter 01 [Gahh...depressing . ]

~ Origami v02 chapter 09 [another completed project! *throws confetti*]

~ Papillon v08 chapter 38 [Getting closer and closer to the end. It's a little predictable, but sweet. ]

~ Platinum Garden v09 chapter 37 [Funny and cute, a nice combination . ]

~ Renjou Sparkle v02 chapter 05 [For your daily doze of cliche shoujo XD. It seems like it will have some evolution.]

~ Shite, Okeba Yokatta Koukai v01 chapter 01 [No, it doesn't end like this! Chapter 6 continues the story from chapter 5. Look forward to more updates! ^^]

~ Triangle v02 chapter 06 [Sad, yet sweet. A recommended project, by me!]

Well, yesterday and today was a surprise when I entered the site to see that so many donations were given in such a short amount of time. Really, you people are great!!! *gives a train of cookies to all our donors* Even thought I’m super busy with my college license I just had to prepare a few chapters in order to celebrate. Sorry I can’t release more, but besides reading tons of books about managing bank risks, writing, preparing releases and sleeping I do nothing else. Well, that’s actually a lie, I also eat and today I took a long relaxing bath [I was so sick of telling myself I only have time for a shower XD]. Thank you so much for supporting us after all this!!! *hugs everyone* Also, I want to use this opportunity to  clear some misunderstandings:
- Yes, we need donations, but that doesn’t mean that a warm comment won’t cheer us up also, so please don’t stop ^^.
- About a refund, of course I’ll ask Canaan to send me the money back, that is if she’ll ever reply. About tracking her down I don’t think it’s possible nor do I think it’s worth it for 300$. And when I gave her the money I knew the risks associated with that. Also, I trusted her because she sent us in the past raws for Masca, Absolute Witch, The Queen’s Knight, Real Purple and a lot more. I still don’t quite understand why she decided not to send us the raws. And did I mention that raws in Korea can cost even 1$ each book? That’s the main reason why I sent her such a big sum [besides trust]. I was greedy and bought a lot of manhwas. I’m very sorry! I know this must be very frustrating for you guys that donated and saw your money were wasted. *bows*
- We’re not dropping Dear my Girls, but this title is in hiatus since may. I really hope the manhwaka won’t decide to drop this because volume 8 ends exactly when the main story seems to start a new development.
- Canaan was not our only raw provider. We have others that still buy/scan raws for us. She was our main manhwa raw provider as she lived in Korea and getting them was easier for her. But hey, we have no one in Japan and we’re still able to bring you mangas so we’ll manage .
- We didn’t drop Evyione, Forget About Love and Spam Mail Hunter, thought I do admit we’re moving kind of slow with them. The only titles that we dropped are Funny money Rich girl and Dear Waltz [both only temporally dropped, we'll pick them up again if no other group will show interest in the next months.]

@LiLiana: no, no! We have the raws for Non Non Biyori volume 3. The only raws we lost are the ones mentioned above. Also, don’t worry about donating this month. I know it’s a bad month for donations since everyone needs money to buy Christmas presents. That’s the reason why I raised last month’s donation goal,  hoping this month I will need only the server costs, but as you can see my plans didn’t work as I expected . I’m definitely not going to blame anyone for not being able to donate and certainly not you! You are part of the few people that donate regular to us. Thank you so, so much! *hugs*
